And frankly, it’s not that difficult because the world is filled with so many delicious dairy alternatives. And today our host proves to us how easy it is. This is a great video for all you vegan-curious people or new vegans who are just starting their journey. Most vegans have experienced the withdrawal from dairy at the start of our transition…specifically from cheese. It is a common excuse for people to use to not go vegan. We have all heard it…”But I can’t live without cheese.” Well, guess what…you don’t have to! There are so many incredible vegan cheeses available these days and they are so delicious you won’t even know the difference. In the video, Tonia also shares many resources that can help us learn more about the dangers of dairy as well. She mentions a great book by Dr. Neal Barnard called The Cheese Trap: How Breaking a Surprising Addiction Will Help You Lose Weight, Gain Energy, and Get Healthy. I highly recommend grabbing that book. It is full of all the info you need to understand your dairy addiction, and how to change it.
On a personal note, when I went vegan nearly 9 years ago, I did miss cheese at first. But it wasn’t long before I discovered plant-based cheeses that satisfied my cravings. But now, in 2020, there are a TON of options that are so amazing in taste. I mean there really is no excuse. And there are also so many variations of plant-milks, yogurts, creams, butter, etc. You can even have vegan eggs nowadays! It’s so easy!
