We love a new vegan restaurant and Julie Goes Green is as good as it gets! There is no need to kill a squid to enjoy calamari at this restaurant. Shelly explains that they batter coconut meat to make it even better than the cruel version. The taste testers are already thrilled before they try the pizza! Check out the California Sunshine pizza. It looks like the kind of pizza you might want eat at sunrise or any time! Shelly and Julie explain that they wanted to put avocado on a pizza and this is what they came up with. The taste testers also tried the buffalo cauliflower, the Julie’s Favorite pizza, lasagna, and eggplant parmesan today. This is what we call a New Years Feast!
Jane tries the fettucine as Julie’s son comes out and shares his experience being vegan while going to NYU in New York. This restaurant is family run with Julie’s two kids working hard alongside her sister, Shelly. Julie has been working in the restaurant industry for over two decades, and she and Shelly have been plant-based for just as long. Julie Goes Green is their first “green” restaurant and it is also their dream come true. Not only is it vegan/ plant-based, but they also make sure to use biodegradable materials for their food items, which makes it a sustainable business as well.
