Hunting, fishing, and eating animals was in the framework of Jake’s family growing up. Then in late 2015, he met Chelsea! At the beginning of 2016, Jake did a 22-day vegan challenge that changed his life. He lost 7 pounds, his skin cleared up, and he started sleeping more efficiently. Following the challenge, he stopped eating factory-farmed animals, and not too long after that, he stopped hunting and fishing and became a passionate vegan advocate, animal rights activist, and athlete. Shows how anyone has the power to change!  In recent years, Jake has been getting nerdier about proper nutrition and peak performance leading him and Chelsea to start a health and wellness business. Let’s Get Back To The Vegan Turkey Soy Curls!

I have been vegan for about 11 years, and I do not miss the traditional Thanksgiving dinner with a deceased bird on the table.  Sorry to be so graphic, but that’s the truth.  There are so many options to choose from, making it easy to have a huge vegan Thanksgiving feast.  And, if you don’t want to cook, these days you can order vegan meals from different establishments.  Especially if you live in a big city like Los Angeles, the options are many.  I decided to order food this year since Thanksgiving is going to be small and quiet due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.  I ordered a full vegan meal from Wholefoods, for two.  All I have to do is pick it up and heat it in the oven.  Easy, and delicious!  Point is, you can choose to cook or order a vegan meal this year.  Give it a try….choose compassion over killing.

Ready To Choose Vegan Turkey This Year?

These vegan turkey soy curls are not a traditional vegan alternative for Thanksgiving…like a vegan roast…but it looks delicious and easy to make if you want to try something a little different.  Soy curls are awesome because they absorb flavor like a sponge, so I imagine if they are smothered in gravy they would be super tasty with a perfect texture.  I am providing the recipe below should you choose to give it a go.  Be sure to let us know how your vegan feasts turned out this year.  We would love to hear all about what you grubbed on.  And if you are looking for more vegan recipes to try out we have plenty to choose from so be sure to check those out.    Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until next time….keep cookin’!
