This group of compassionate people selflessly sacrificed their time this past Wednesday night. We hope the vigils will resume soon, but for now the safety of our activists in every way is our first priority.

Cesar Asebedo reporting LIVE for Jane Unchained News Network at a vigil with The Save Movement group Animal Alliance Network at a slaughterhouse near Downtown Los Angeles. CaveLight Films is filming for Animal Save Movement. Activists struggle to get water to the multitude of pigs on the trucks. These pigs are only 4-6 months old and wouldn’t have to die Take a good look because these babies are where bacon really comes from. Unfortunately, this is the last vigil that will be held in Los Angeles this month. This includes all cow, chicken vigils, and other events held by Los Angeles Animal Save as well. Chino Cow Save will continue to hold its vigils in Chino, CA as long as their attendance remains low.

Activists come as close as they can to give comfort to the baby pigs.

The movement must go on but amidst the tension of the Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic spreading worldwide, organizers in Los Angeles and around the world have been encouraged by The Animal Save Movement to adhere to the protocol set forth in their respective areas to hinder the further transmission of the virus. Spectrum 1 News reports that as of today, there are more than 156,000 cases worldwide, over 2600 cases in the United States, and 53 cases in California. This number is expected to rise substantially as more people are tested. Regretfully the group organizers have canceled any public gatherings in which they cannot keep people 6 feet apart from each other as recommended in the executive order from California Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, March 11th. For now, the vigils are canceled for the remainder of the month of March and possibly longer depending on the state of this health crisis in the coming months. Please follow both groups in Los Angeles at the links below to stay up to date on any developments.

Animal Alliance Network has a customary group huddle and moment of silence for the animals who will lose their lives here.

The slaughterhouse representatives are invited on to respond at any time.

Photographer Daniel Moreno Escalante masterfully captures perspectives from the inside and outside of the truck. The doomed are greeted by the free.
