Keynote speaker and true public servant, Congressman Earl Blumenauer kicking off the 27th annual Animal Law Conference! He is a true champion for animals: throughout his over 20 years in Congress, has focused on protecting wild and domestic animals, as well as the habitats of threatened and endangered species. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, Blumenauer has been a leader on efforts to crack down on animal cruelty and abuse, protect imperiled species and ensure conscientious wildlife management, defend farm animals, and require responsible research and testing. Congressman Earl Blumenauer, last night’s keynote speaker at the Animal Law Conference in response to being asked what he thinks about Oregon and other places passing a statewide fur ban now that California has just done so: “I think it’s perfectly appropriate for states to move (forward).
