BBQ Seitan Skewers Recipe

2c vital wheat gluten
2c warm water
1tbs molasses
1tbs mushroom seasoning
2tsp vegetable bouilion
2tsp chicken seasoning or poultry seasoning
1tsp garlic powder
1tsp granulated onion
1tsp seasoning salt
BBQ Sauce
1c ketchup
2tbs aminos, tamari or soy sauce
1tbs molasses
1tbs sesame oil
2tsp smoked paprika
1tsp garlic powder
1tsp granulated onion
1/2tsp ground ginger
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Put vital wheat gluten in a bowl
Add all seasonings, bouilion and molasses into warm water
Pour liquid into vital wheat gluten and mix thoroughly
Knead about 1 minute until dough forms and sticks together
Shape dough into a loaf
Put dough into covered baking dish or wrap in foil
Be sure foil or baking pan has enough space for the loaf to expand
Bake at 375 degrees for about 40 minutes until loaf is firm, but not hard.
Remove from oven and let cool enough to handle.
Cut into 1/4 in pieces and stick on skewers
Brush with favorite BBQ sauce or recipe above
Brown under a broiler, in an oiled pan or on a grill
