Filmmaker Makes the Case for Returning to Plant-Based Roots!
#LunchBreakLIVE features the extraordinary writer, producer, filmmaker, Jasmine C. Leyva, co-producer (with her fiancee, Kenny Leyva) of the film, The Invisible Vegan. This documentary addresses how plant-based eating is directly linked to African roots and how the current American diet is part of a chain of oppression stemming from slavery and modern agribusiness. This film will be featured at the Animal Rights 2018 National Conference #ar2018 on Sat June 30 from 1 – 3 pm followed by a panel discussion with Jasmine, A Vegan Child's Journey- Genesis Butler, Tracye McQuirter, and Milton Rene Mills, MD. Apple and Almond Butter Sandwich
Ingredients: Apples, bread, almond butter, cinnamon, agave or maple syrup (optional)
Spread almond butter on two slices of bread. Put a layer of sliced apples on both slices and sprinkle with cinnamon and syrup. Put the apple concoction in the oven on 350 degrees until the bread gets toasty.
Coconut and Mango
Ingredients: Bread, Coconut Butter, Mango
Cover the bread with coconut butter and top it off with sliced mangos
Peanut Butter and Pomegranate
Ingredients: Bread, Pomegranate seeds, peanut butter
Cover the bread with peanut butter and pomegranate seeds
Banana and Cashew Butter
Ingredients: Bread, bananas, cashew butter, cacao nibs
Spread cashew butter over the bread and top with a layer of bananas and cacao nibs
