FAST FOOD: IS IT A SUSHI BURRITO? IT’S A KYERITO From KYE’S MONTANA
Join us for #LunchBreakLIVE at KYE’S MONTANA, a super hot dining spot on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, California. Their welcome wall says, “Eat to Live, Live to Eat. Fast Foodie Restaurant. Where YIN & YANG Say YUM!” Meet Jeanne Cheng the creator of KYE’S, a molecular biology graduate from UCLA, (she also holds degrees in spiritual psychology and traditional Chinese medicine), who brings science into the kitchen with her grab and go KYERITOS, smoothies and salad bowls. Many of her items include super food ingredients such as goji berries, American ginseng, licorice root, jujube and Chinese yam. Each KYERITO is a unique delicious creation with surprisingly recognizable flavors, such as with the Nori Burger, which is wrapped in a sheet of dried seaweed like a big sushi burrito: Once you bite into it, unmistakable burger essences are discovered! Cheng found that being a parent brought on new commitments of health and wellness in a fast food culture, aptly naming the restaurant after her son KYE, she’s bringing GRAB & GO to new levels of taste healthy!
Our fabulous taste testers include Nora Kramer, founder of Youth Empowered Action (YEA) Camp, a summer camp for teens 11-17, empowering youth in activism and leadership, taking place in Idyllwild, CA, August 4-11. For the first time, YEA is offering an adult camp at Woodstock Sanctuary in Upstate New York in July (www.yeacamp.com). Also meet taster and animal rescuer Joey Trachtman, who also serves the homeless every Thursday night in Santa Monica by providing food, clothing and blankets. Anyone is welcome to donate or volunteer (reach Joey at email@example.com).
