  • Los Angeles City Council Member Mitch O’Farrell said this in the video:
” Spiritually, I don’t think humans will ever evolve unless and until we realize that what makes us humane is how we treat other beings, including animals. ”
(at approximately -7:36 of the video)
Thank you, [Council Member] Koretz, for always being a champion of animal welfare, and congratulations, Nathan. It’s people like you that bring greater awareness to everyone on the obscenity of animal cruelty. Spiritually, I don’t think humans will ever evolve unless and until we realize that what makes us humane is how we treat other beings, including animals.
I think until we can figure that out, we’ll be in our own sort of prison of misery. And I think that an enlightened approach to how we treat our animals is the way to go. And that will make us better as a human race.
Growing up partly on farms in Oklahoma, big agri business was a foreign concept to us. So that is, as [Council Member] Krekorian said, it’s really a vehicle of complete abject greed, which brings cruelty. But you, as an individual, and your allies and those you work with are changing that conversation.
And, so, I want to commend you for being a 15-year old and starting this organization, and spreading the word across the United States and the world for a more humane world and planet that we live on. So, congratulations. Thank you.
